Looking for some official documentation? Here is a collection of relevant materials for you. You may also be able to find more materials on the Homeless Learning Hub, as HICC periodically releases tools and guides there.

HIFIS 4 User Guide

The User Guide is the closest thing HIFIS has to an instruction manual. It goes through every module and includes step-by-step instructions for its use. It shows you how to get to a module, what buttons to click on, and what goes in each field. However, it’s somewhat basic and doesn’t at all tell you which modules you should be using and which ones you shouldn’t be, nor does it provide any tips or tricks. That’s why you’re here, isn’t it? Regardless, it’s the best official resource that exists that outlines all the different modules.

HIFIS 4 Implementation Guide

The Implementation Guide is intended for communities as they are implementing HIFIS for the first time, which likely doesn’t apply to you. However, it does have useful information about system administration, governance, training, help desk support, and similar topics, which are relevant to the concept of managing HIFIS.
